Message from the director

Kyoto University has established Kyoto University on-site labs in each country in order to become a hub of a global network of knowledge in cooperation with leading overseas universities and research institutes. Our Graduate School of Medicine has signed an agreement with the Graduate School of Medicine of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) to establish a venture incubator facility completed in August 2019 on the UCSD campus. The newly established on-site laboratory is named Kyoto University Research Center San Diego and is located in the Center for Novel Therapeutics (CNT). This on-site lab not only promotes joint research, academic exchange, and education on the west coast of the United States but also disseminates the culture of knowledge created at Kyoto University to US citizens and students as well as research and development at Kyoto University. We aim to introduce these new technologies to US investors and companies and to support university ventures in North America.
